A few weeks ago, my youngest daughter, Camryn Lynn walked through a couple of tough days. While playing basketball outside with her older sister, Erin, the competition got a little rough and Erin accidentally elbowed Cam in the mouth. Much to her dismay, a baby tooth fell out as a result. And the basketball game ended. Cam doesn’t like losing teeth. In fact, she recently had four baby teeth pulled because she just couldn’t seem to let go. The following day, she lost another tooth located above the one that got knocked out. And if that wasn’t enough – Camryn was then diagnosed with strep throat. As we sat on my bed the night she found out she had strep, Cam just started crying big crocodile tears. She looked at me and said “I’m falling apart mommy.” Without even thinking, I responded. “Cam, sometimes we need to fall apart so that Jesus can put us back together.” » Read more

Mother’s Day this year was really hard. I don’t usually have any expectations when it comes to celebrating holidays. It’s not that I’m a scrooge or anything, it’s just that I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. I try not to have certain expectations that might distract me from just enjoying the day. I want to be free to let the day unfold and enjoy every moment.

Before you continue reading – please watch the above You Tube video. I love this song by the David Crowder Band. This is one of those songs that captivates you and makes you want to do exactly what the guy in this video is doing – praise Him. So, did you like it? The first time I watched this video I cried. I couldn’t help it.
There’s so much going on all around us – all the time. Like the man in this video, we are surrounded by people going here and there and everywhere – doing this and that and everything else. And sometimes in the midst of all the clutter and chaos that is our world we need to praise Him. There will always be distractions. The world around us wants our time and attention. We can’t run away from life. But we can praise Him in the midst of it all. » Read more

While I was on an important conference call this morning, I decided to go outside onto our back patio to talk. It was such a beautiful morning that I didn’t want to miss out. So as I was talking and listening, I made my way outside. And so did Bella. Bella is our two year old tea-cup chihuahua. As you can see from the picture – she’s adorable. No matter what Bella does – she’s our little princess. We love her! Our backyard is like a puppy playground for Bella – and our other two dogs – Buddy – a black lab and Butterscotch, our yellow lab. Yes, we went with a “B” theme in naming our three dogs. » Read more
